Another quickfire gameweek has come and gone. This one was quite disappointing for me, as my captain pick not only blew up in my face, but was absolutely woeful during the game. I finished all out on 46 points, which goes down to 42 after calculating my hit. Let’s see what went wrong this week.

Goalkeepers

Nick Pope: 3 points

Annoyingly had their clean wiped. Even more annoyingly it was wiped by a wondergoal of a player I had just removed on a hit.

Alex McCarthy: 2 points

A solid team performance but nothing too exceptional from Alex.

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 0 points

Horrendous. Not only did they lose, Trent was benched, then came on, just to get a yellow. The sellers are once again vindicated.

Matt Doherty: 4 points

Secret agent Matt Doherty has struck again. He was benched, to my dismay, then came on to get the assist for said wondergoal, and then proceeded to conceded a pen, which left him the highest scoring Wolves defender.

Roman Saiss: 2 points

Would’ve had a clean and bonus were it not for the last second penalty, can’t fault him too much.

Serge Aurier: 2 points

To everyone’s great surprise, Aurier actually played. Didn’t really do anything positive and conceded a cheap goal. This will be the last week in my team.

Kiko Femenia: 1 point

Didn’t expect anything and didn’t get anything.

Midfielders

Kevin de Bruyne: 0 points

Pep doesn’t want him to get this record. Why give him a full rest, he’s a professional athlete for god’s sake. He’s being wrapped in bubblewrap for the CL and has lost his value as an FPL asset.

Mohamed Salah (C): 2 points

So incredibly frustrating. He was so bad on the day, scuffed all of his chances, truly a miserable performance to watch and I hope I never need to rely on him again.

Bruno Fernandes: 6 points

One jammy assist, once again. He has looked so tired and out of it in the last 3 games, I think the xG reaper will catch up to him sooner or later.

Anthony Martial: 8 points

He has been brilliant. Such an improvement in his workrate has given him so many opportunities for goals.

Michail Antonio: 7 points

My man, instantly rewarding the hit by scoring in the first 5 minutes. He really is having a spectacular purple patch and I’m so glad I jumped on it.

Forwards

Gabriel Jesus: 8 points

What a goal! He showed his brilliance in that one finish, but the rest left quite a bit to be desired. On top of that, he was robbed of an assist for a stonewall penalty. He also was outscored by Jimenez, making this all the more annoying.

Mason Greenwood: 2 points

I broke him. He finally came back into my team and his low numbers caught up to him. Hope I get a return out of him this year.

Eddie Nketiah: 0 points

Still banned from his red card vs AVL.
