Gameweek 29 in Review

I see trees of green! There was a point this week was looking like another stinker, but my hero Harvey pulled off a 19 pointer and saved my gameweek! The double gameweek being cancelled and Vardy hauling the week I took him out really stung, along with the huge amount of points on my bench. All in all, I’m quite happy with 65 points and a 70k green arrow, up to rank 395,173! Just a few more weeks of this and I’ll be pushing my 100k goal. Let’s take a look at how this was possible.

Goalkeepers

Dean Henderson: 7 points

Bittersweet. I had a tossup this week, and much like I predicted, whoever I didn’t choose would haul. At least a clean and a bap softened the blow quite a bit.

Alex McCarthy: 12 points

Couldn’t do this last week, huh? What a nightmare this is. I actually kind of happy they conceded so I didn’t have 16 points staring at me from the bench.

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 2 points

Liverpool are out of sorts. Exposed. Found out. The cross and inshallah merchants seem to be in a rut now, and no matter how many times Trent whips one in, they cannot seem to hold a clean.

Joe Gomez: 2 points

Adrian is a clear liability and massive downgrade. I know this from personal experience and the UCL game. Let’s hope Allison comes back before the league is cancelled.

Roman Saiss: 8 points

I love this man. 21 points in the three weeks I have owned him is just phenomenal. He is a bonus point magnet, picking up all three today, despite getting a yellow. With Wolves being a bit prone to a 0-0, I might just invest in a double defense rather than attack.

Jack Stephens: 2 points

Why did I play him? I hedged my bets in the worst possible way. He will be my next transfer out, Soton are very much at the beach now.

Brandon Williams: 6 points

What a wind-up merchant. When we need him, 1 point 1 minute cameo. When he’s last on my bench, 6 points against Man City.

Midfielders

Mohamed Salah: 9 points

He was hungry, and the attack looked good. Hindsight is I should stayed on him for the cap, but tragically I was temped by the DGW. At least he didn’t get a hatty this time.

Kevin de Bruyne: 0 points

Kevin de Blanke! Missing the first game through injury was tough, but having the second cancelled was even worse. At least he allowed my foolishly benched Gloves to come on.

Anthony Martial: 8 points

I should not have doubted the man. I benched him, and he scored. Best attacking performance hes put up this year I’ve heard. I’m still planning on shipping him. I’m of the belief that Utd are still counter attack merchants and will struggle breaking down defenses that lie back. And I heard that he may once again be injured. Maybe ill pick up Bruno down the line, if the season isn’t chalked off.

Harvey Barnes: 19 points

HAHAHAHAHA. REPAY THE FAITH HARVEY. I shouted the man out, look at the stats I said, he’s ready to explode I said. He went supernova. Just what I needed to keep me among the greens, and a tasty differential with 3% ownership, which unfortunately will now skyrocket.

Isaac Hayden: 3 points

Reliable man, picks up another 3 pointer for my bench. With Dubravka’s injury I do fear these 3s will soon turn to 2s.

Forwards

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang (C): 2 points

So dissapointing. He blanked against hammers, which was a painful game to watch as an owner, as he should have at least had an assist, and he was so far out wide. The second game being called off was the hammer blow. Even worse, in normal fashion, after holding Vardy through 11 weeks of crap, he bangs a brace off the bench. I’m fuming. I would have capped Salah had I not made this transfer and it would be a net 20 point swing.

Danny Ings: 2 points

Soton have lost the plot and Ings has gotta go. He is just atrocious now. I never thought I would be this desperate to sell an attacker before Norwich (A) but here I am. My forwards are just consistently letting me down.

Raul Jimenez: 2 points

Like I said, Wolves have a 0-0 in them, its happened a few times since I’ve owned him. Not too upset though, but I imagine those who doubled up with Jota are.
